Achievements/Interests:

Prior to moving to Redding, Dr Garnaas has been involved in developing and directing various neuroscience multidisciplinary care centers specializing in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and other neuromuscular conditions, multiple sclerosis and obtaining national ABNEM EMG laboratory certification.

Historically she has also been actively involved in medical school education at medical schools in ND and SD and served in various leadership roles in her prior health systems.

Her current primary research interests involve the exploration of the gut-brain connection and the exploration of modifying the course of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and potentially other neurologic conditions through modulation of the gut microbiome with probiotic therapy.
